Van Ewing has dedicated his career to helping individuals, families, business owners, and executives make informed financial decisions that protect what matters most while creating lasting wealth. With more than three decades of experience in financial services, investment management, and executive leadership, he brings a unique perspective that combines institutional expertise with the personalized service of a boutique wealth management practice.

As a Founding Partner of FFG Chicago, Van believes that successful financial planning begins with understanding each client’s values, aspirations, and vision for the future. His comprehensive planning process integrates investment management, retirement income planning, tax-efficient wealth strategies, estate and legacy planning, and risk management into a coordinated strategy designed to help clients build, preserve, and transfer wealth with confidence.

Van works closely with successful professionals, retirees, business owners, and multi-generational families who value education, collaboration, and long-term relationships. Known for simplifying complex financial concepts, he helps clients make informed decisions while creating financial strategies that evolve alongside their lives.

Before co-founding FFG Chicago, Van served in executive leadership roles within the financial services industry, including Director of Wealth Management, Managing Principal, and Managing Partner for nationally recognized firms. Earlier in his career, he worked as an Investment Banking Analyst with Goldman Sachs before joining Texaco Inc. (now Chevron), where he held leadership responsibilities in mergers and acquisitions and corporate strategic initiatives. These experiences continue to shape his disciplined, analytical approach to financial planning and investment management.

Beyond serving clients, Van is deeply committed to developing the next generation of financial professionals. Throughout his career, he has mentored and coached advisors while helping build high-performing teams grounded in integrity, professionalism, and client-centered service.

Van currently serves on the Board of the Howard University School of Business. He has also served on the Corporate Advisory Boards of La Rabida Children’s Hospital and the American Lung Association of Metropolitan Chicago, reflecting his longstanding commitment to leadership, education, and community service.

Van earned his Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville and his Master of Business Administration in Finance from Howard University. He holds the Retirement Income Certified Professional® (RICP®) and Chartered Leadership Fellow® (CLF®) designations.

His professional achievements include being recognized as a Man of Excellence by The Chicago Defender and being named one of Howard University School of Business’ Most Prominent Alumni. In 2015, he had the honor of delivering the commencement address to the graduating class of the Howard University School of Business.

Van and his wife, Elizabeth, reside in Hinsdale, Illinois, with their two sons, Van and Wolfe. Outside the office, he enjoys golf, tennis, pickleball, Formula 1 racing, traveling with his family, discovering exceptional restaurants, and exploring boutique wineries
